Counseling in Geneva, Zurich, or remotely from your home
Our services
The Counselor's role is to listen and to respond with empathy and explore options to assist the client in making their lives more meaningful and manageable. Clients may present with a variety of issues:
Life adjustments
Transitions
Loneliness
Homesickness
Relationships, marriage, partnerships, divorce
Anxiety
Work stress
Procrastination
Sleep problems
Low mood
Grief and bereavement
Questions around identity and/or sexuality
Parenting
Clients from beyond the Geneva Campus will now have access to counseling support at no cost. A respectful and private exchange with another human being is one of the best ways to begin understanding oneself. Listening with respect and without judgment is rewarding to both parties. Sessions are offered on a weekly basis for an agreed-upon period of time.
Additional Information
Referrals are made to qualified practitioners where issues such as substance abuse or other complex issues are deemed to be beyond the competency level of the Counseling trainee.
The service can also help you find adequate outside resources and provide information on psychological issues. The service is offered in person on campus or via video conferencing. The number of sessions depends on individual needs and is flexibly available but an initial offering is usually 12 weekly sessions.
“Being able to talk to someone in my own language who can get the nuances of language, of cultural differences, of the challenges faced as a foreigner far from the place where I grew up, made a huge difference in how I could form a connection and feel like I was being heard.”
